Data Acquisition with 3D Scanning Technology

The object is scanned with optic scanners to have the 3D data. Projector rays are moved on the object by special software and two cameras record the whole process simultaneously. Distances and shape differences are recorded as 3 dimensional in XYZ axis by the cameras. As the projector moves on all surfaces of the object, millions of points which is called ‘’point cloud data’’ are shown on the computer screen. 750.000 point are acquired per second. So that, data acquisition process occurs rapidly.

Point cloud data is recorded and united to create a 3-dimensional representation after the acquisition. 3D data of the object is prepared with different software for quality control and reverse engineering applications.

The data which is acquired with 3D scanning is used to make a comparison with essential design data. Comparison results of scanning data and CAD data is delivered to the customer as the color map derivation report.

CAD Model for Reverse Engineering

Optic scanning is the fastest and most accurate method during the 3D data acquisition process from an object for reverse engineering applications. Point cloud data is used to create the 3D model of the object with a specialized software. 3D model is used for reproduction of the object with high accuracy or to correct the imperfections on the model.
